The adopted son of the Hayes family, Lucas Hayes, and his girlfriend Mia Bates scheme to steal the family fortune. They clash with the independent biological daughter, Audrey Hayes, while her jealous ex-colleague Amber Larson joins the plot. After Mia sparks a fight at a family dinner and frames Audrey for theft, forcing her to resign, Audrey fights back. During an argument at the real estate office, Audrey exposes Lucas. The shock lands Arthur Hayes in the hospital with stomach cancer, finally opening his eyes to his adopted son's true nature. When Lucas demands a million-dollar marital home online, Mrs. Hayes reveals his birth father once stole Arthur's job. The resulting backlash gets Lucas and Mia fired.
