On her wedding day, Jagger Hamilton abandons Avery for his adopted sister Tatum. She marries his dangerous uncle Beckett instead. Three years later, Jagger returns, attacks her pregnant belly, and causes her to lose the child. Beckett arrives, locks down the estate, and punishes them. Jagger and Tatum are broken and exiled. Avery and Beckett later have a second child. Jagger, now a beggar, begs to return but is rejected and dies alone. Avery finds strength as Beckett’s wife and mother of the new heir.
