Seven days before the catastrophic flood, Serena Hale is reborn. Using her severance pay, she buys a discarded steel tank, gives up a respectable life, and frantically hoards supplies—turning the tank into Noah's Ark and humiliating her sneering ex-coworker Celine Shaw. When disaster strikes, she coldly watches Celine and the others fall, driving off looters and her vicious former landlord Victor Kane again and again. Surviving brutal cold through sheer ruthlessness, she uncovers the coordinates to Dawnhaven Base, sails there, hides her supplies, blends in as a refugee—and rises to claim her place in the new world.
