When Juniper and her sister Odette were born, an astrologer predicted that Juniper’s success would one day drive Odette to her death. Their parents believe every word. For eighteen years, Juniper is punished for being smarter, working harder, and shining too brightly. On the day of the SAT, they take away her admission ticket and lock her inside a freezing industrial freezer, convinced her sacrifice will save Odette. But outside that locked door, Odette is begging for her sister to be released. As the cold closes in, Juniper realizes the prophecy was never the only thing threatening to destroy their family.
