Orphaned, thrown out by his aunt, laughed out of the room as a worthless reject — the beast he finally bonds is a chubby little turkey that can barely cough up a spark. No one knows that "little turkey" is an ancient god sleeping off a mortal wound — the Phoenix. And the nobody they all step on? He's the Phoenix Envoy from a thousand-year-old prophecy, the one destined to lead the world against the dark. Reject, or chosen one? Why can't the cold-eyed instructor take his eyes off him? And what secret did his dead parents leave behind?
