Rian, Duke Calder's disgraced second son, was secretly raised by the Holy Dragon Aurelian, the realm's last Dragon Speaker. When half-orcs threaten Princess Isabel, Rian defeats them one by one, exposing years of family abuse and clearing his mother Elena's honor. The Sovereign names him Dragon Speaker, but he must prove it against Starspeaker Aether before the Undead Legion's general invades. Betrayed by envoy Zoramus, Rian summons Aurelian, destroys the general, and returns to marry Isabel.
