In a cyberpunk world, brilliant scientist Livia is betrayed by her boyfriend, who steals her research. Heartbroken, she drinks alone—until an antique lamp in her home starts spitting out strange objects. She pours water into it, but it never fills. Unknown to her, the lamp connects to Edonia, a dying magical world. There, elf bishop Marcus is about to sacrifice himself to save his people from drought and war. A flood of fresh water erupts from the lamp. The elves hail Livia as their Lamp God. Through the lamp, Livia and Marcus exchange supplies and comfort. She sends water, food, and futuristic weapons; he helps her heal and face her world. They fall in love. But Livia knows the legend: Marcus is fated to die young. She vows to rewrite fate and save him—as his foretold death approaches.
