Serena Vale died with Adrian's silver knife in her chest after her sister Lila screamed, "Serena stole my Luna mark." Reborn at the Moon Den, Serena refuses to bleed for Lila again. The mark chooses her in front of the pack, and when her former betrothed steps forward, she makes the choice that shatters Blackwood: "I choose Rowan Blackwood." Rowan is Adrian's cursed uncle, poisoned into a living corpse, but his wolf still answers her. When he wakes and asks who dared touch his Luna, Serena's second life turns from survival into war.
