"The Vanishing Light" tells the story of a pair of intellectuals in the early Republic of China who break free from feudal constraints and fall into a free love relationship. However, their ideal happiness gradually falls into the confusion of reality after marriage, and their love eventually fades amidst tedium, anxiety, and poverty. This series divides the into four parts: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
