On her wedding day, Jagger Hamilton abandons Avery for his adopted sister Tatum. Jagger's uncle Beckett, Manhattan's feared "Ice Blade," marries her instead. Three years later, Avery carries Beckett's long-awaited child, but Jagger and Tatum return and brutally kill the baby. Beckett exacts brutal revenge, crippling and disowning them. Years later, Avery and Beckett welcome a healthy son, while a ruined, disabled Jagger—rejected by the family—takes his own life.
