Part 1: What Is The Main Story Of The Weapons Movie?

Weapons is one of the most successful horror and mystery films of 2025. The story kickstarted with third-grade students belonging to Justine Gandy’s class in Maybrook, Pennsylvania, waking up at exactly 2:17 am.
Coincidence or something more? Because not one but seventeen children, all students of Justine Gandy’s class except for Alex, everyone just disappeared into the dark, running away from their home without looking back.
Out of all the other teachers, why did it have to be Justine Gandy? With police investigating the missing students, Justine was put on leave, with people around her suspecting Justine to be the suspect behind the missing kids.
From getting her car vandalized to being socially ostracized, Justine fell into depression and became an alcoholic after a relapse. As Justine found comfort with her ex-boyfriend Paul, Archer, one of the missing children’s fathers, set out on his investigation.
Soon strange nightmares about the missing kids and a woman dressed with clown makeup started to disturb Justine and Archer. However, a drug addict named James found the missing kids in Alex’s basement along with her parents.

With a cash award being announced for the details about the missing students, James went to the cops to make a report, but before he could do so, James was chased into the woods by Paul, Justine’s ex-boyfriend.
Things start to get weird as the Weapons movie questions reality and dreams as James sees a woman who had earlier appeared in Justine and Archer’s dreams. And arrival of Gladys, Alex’s aunt, shifts the narrative, as Gladys is a mysterious woman who could pull off a ritual to turn people against each other by using a personal item belonging to the victim.
Later in the Weapons movie, it’s revealed that Gladys is the antagonist, the dying witch who had forced Alex to collect the belongings of each of her classmates by threatening to hurt her parents.
With Alex getting the name tags of her classmates, Gladys had cast a spell on them to steal their life force to increase her life span. But Gladys’s spell backfired when Alex copied her spell later in the movie and had the children who had been bewitched by Gladys’s spell chase her out into the neighborhood and decapitate her.
The Weapons movie then ends with Gladys’ spell broken and the missing children reuniting with her parents. Meanwhile, Alex moves out of the town with her aunt

Part 3: More Movies Like Weapons on ReelShort
3.1 Look Into My Eyes

The reason we all loved the Weapons movie is that it was out of the box, a concept that wasn’t explored in movies. It was psychologically mysterious and kept you questioning the intentions and anticipating what’s coming next. So as a horror thriller fan, if you love a good scary, suspenseful thriller movie, then you have to check out Look Into My Eyes on ReelShort.
This 2025 vertical series is chilling as the plot follows three vertical stories with different points of view. First off, we have The Unwelcome Strangers, which follows a married man who welcomed two strange women into his home. His supposed act of kindness starts to unfold the sinister and unsettling setup of the women who had the man fall into their trap.
Secondly, we have Pornshoot Went Wrong. This short story follows a man who pays a passerby woman to fix his sexual needs, unaware of the strange ordeal he was soon going to be trapped in.
Thirdly, My Naughty Babe follows a rich man who welcomes two distraught women into his fancy car. All he wanted to do was help the women, but instead he got his sanity tested.
3.2 Survive From Sacrifice

Our next top recommendation would be Survive From Sacrifice, a horror movie similar to the Weapons movie.
The plot follows a low-budget horror film whose crew ignored the warnings of the villagers and filmed their movie in an abandoned temple in the mountains all to save money. But amidst their real paranormal story, the lead star, Nora, starts to experience the real horror. Her fears were confirmed by the villagers, as this wasn’t the team who had wanted to film in the abandoned temple.
Reality came crashing when Nora realized she had to save her life, given that her character was destined to be sacrificed. Survive from Sacrifice is a vertical movie that’s best enjoyed on ReelShort. It’s intense, suspenseful, and, most importantly, leaves you curious to know if Nora could make it out alive.
