Part 1: What Is The Main Story Of Our Unwritten Seoul Movie?

Our Unwritten Seoul centers on identical twin sisters who swap identities to escape their troubled lives and rediscover themselves.
Yoo Mi-ji (played by Park Bo-young) is a free-spirited, former promising athlete who now drifts through contract jobs, working as a janitor, supermarket staff, and day laborer, while caring for her family in the countryside.
Yoo Mi-rae (also played by Park Bo-young), in contrast, is ambitious, academically successful, and works in a demanding corporate environment in Seoul, but is emotionally depleted and depressed.
Concerned for her sister, Mi-ji suggested they swap lives, much as they did as children, so each can confront their struggles. Mi-ji ventured into Seoul’s harsh workplace culture. Mi-rae tried navigating a simpler, rural life.
Lee Ho-soo (played by Park Jin-young) is a kind lawyer and Mi-rae’s ex. He becomes entangled in their lives as emotions and relationships deepen. Meanwhile, Han Se-jin (played by Ryu Kyung-soo) runs a strawberry farm and becomes Mi-ji’s companion in the countryside.
As the story unfolds, the drama tackles the narratives of identity, healing, and forgiveness. Mi-ji overcame agoraphobia and pursued a psychology education. Mi-rae stood up to the toxic work culture. She also built her confidence through farming and blogging.
The story ended with grandmother Wol-sun’s passing, representing both loss and the start of new beginnings.
Mi-ji enrolls in college as a mature student. Mi-rae blossoms as a confident entrepreneur. Ho-soo learns sign language and reconciles with his past. Mi-rae and Han Se-jin rekindle their bond.
Our Unwritten Seoul Netflix series is a 12-episode Korean drama streaming on tvN, TVING, and Netflix. It was released last May 24, 2025, and until now, viewers haven’t stopped repeating and binge-watching this series.

Part 2: Our Unwritten Seoul Movie Review: Cast, Plot & Ratings
Our Unwritten Seoul KDrama is a heartfelt series that blends emotional and slice-of-life storytelling. It explores the themes of identity, healing, and self-discovery.
Coupled with the stellar performances of the actors and actresses, the Netflix series reached unprecedented popularity nationwide.
2.1 Review of Our Unwritten Seoul Plot

A slice of life drama is always cliché. That’s a given in every literary form as this genre tackles the bittersweet reality of life. It uses emotions to hook both readers and viewers as most plots are relatable.
It might seem easy at first sight, but this genre is one of the hardest to pull off whether it is writing or filming. This is because a slice of life plot shouldn’t be overly dramatic and even less dramatic as it may butcher the emotions and feelings the piece is trying to convey.
Our Unwritten Seoul movie is dubbed as a slice of life series done right because the seriousness and the blissfulness combine so well that it feels like we are just watching a diary unfold in front of us.
The series didn’t use excessive plotlines that felt too impossible to happen. It has the balance of rainy days and sunny days which prepared the viewers for the upcoming tragedy.
2.2 Review of Our Unwritten Seoul Cast
K-dramas still hold the number one spot as the most-streamed television dramas. This is because every masterpiece that they release, has these viewers on a chokehold either by the plot or the actors.
The reason for this is the right selection of cast, and our Unwritten Seoul Kdrama series also won this round. Park Bo-young’s portrayal of two different characters tested her acting skills. Kudos to her because she did well.
Mi-rae didn’t feel like Mi-jie, and vice versa. They both stood as two different characters with the same face, and it takes a great skill to do it so well that we almost see two Bo-youngs on the screen.
2.3 Rating of Our Unwritten Seoul Movie

If we could give this KDrama series a rating above 10 for personal reasons, we would. Our Unwritten Seoul Netflix series has us holding tissues as we finish all twelve episodes.
Everyone will go through an identity crisis, no one is an exception. This movie just gives us the courage and the message that we aren’t alone in this battle.
So for that, we’d like to give this series a 9.8 rating! There are minor details that break our concentration while watching, but if you’re watching it as a casual viewer (cause we did as a reviewer), you won’t even notice them.
Also, an easter egg for this movie is, if you let different age groups watch this Netflix drama, you will elicit different reactions from them. You know, this movie is about an identity crisis and it’s always the adults who can relate the most to it.
