Part 1: What Is The Storyline Of Tastefully Yours Movie
Tastefully Yours Netflix series is a 10-episode romantic comedy K-Drama directed by Park Dan-hee, created by Han Jun-hee, and written by Jung Soo-yoon.
The story was set in the high stakes of Seoul’s fine dining scene and the rustic charm of Jeonju, told through the lens of Han Beom-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul).
Beom-woo is a competitive heir to the powerful food conglomerate Hansang. He manages the exclusive and high-class fine-dining restaurant in Seoul called Motto. However, Beom-woo wasn’t one driven by passion for culinary or foods. He was there for success and to compete for their mother’s favor.
He was rushing to secure his place against his brother by earning the coveted third Diamant star. Beom-woo would acquire small and independent restaurants and steal their recipes to boost Motto’s menu.
Amidst this blatant and rampant extortion towards small businesses, a small yet exceptional one-table restaurant in Jeonju was able to shine. The restaurant was run by Mo Yeon-joo (played by Go Min-si), a desolate woman with an exceptional skill and passion for culinary arts.
Yeon-joo’s restaurant, although small, serves quality and fresh dishes, highlighting her skills and flair for culinary. Intrigued, Beom-woo set out to check Yeon-joo’s restaurant.
Once the two met, clashing was inevitable. Beom-woo is profit-driven, while Yeon-joo had always respected her heartfelt artistry for the food. Despite numerous attempts to persuade, Yeon-joo remained steadfast.
Tastefully Yours plot took another turn when Beom-woo was ousted from his position. He stayed in Jeonju and met similar people with pure and true passion for food, including the seasoned gukbap chef Jin Myeong-sook and the son of the local restaurateur Shin Chun-seung.
Beom-woo found a family in them. But the happy days didn’t last long. His past misdeed quickly catches him when news of Yeon-joo’s recipe being served at Motto reaches their ears.
Tastefully Yours plot combines the mouthwatering visuals of delicacies and the intricate dealings of business-driven industries, weaving a romantic comedy series that captures the struggles over profit and passion.

Tastefully Yours ends with an emotional reconciliation between Yeon-joo and Beom-woo. The finale delivers a satisfying resolution to the misunderstandings caused by Beom-woo’s past and schemes from Hansang.
After finding out that Hyeon-joo’s recipe is being served at Hansang and without her permission, she rallied to protest. Hansang wants to dismiss her, but she requests a showdown with the chef who claimed the recipe.
In the highly-anticipated match, Hansang rigs the result to have a draw. However, a French judge walks out resulting in people doubting Hansang’s announcement.
In an attempt to pacify the people, Hansang requests a rematch. Instead of cooking the recipe again, Yeon-joo prepares a home-cooked meal and let Beom-woo’s mother taste it. The chairwoman is then reminded of the past and the moments she had been missing with her family.
Beom-woo asks for forgiveness again which Yeon-joo accepts. She understands what made Beom-woo that way and she sees he is really repenting for what he did.
In the Tastefully Yours finale, Yeon-joo and Beom-woo reconcile and confirm their relationship. Myeong-sook finally gets a chance to get an endorsement from his favorite actor, Park Ji-hoon (cameo role for Park Ji-hoo, Weak Hero Class actor). Chun-seung earns his father’s approval too.
What Did Beom-woo Choose?
Profit or passion? What did Beom-woo choose? In Tastefully Yours finale, Beom-woo chooses both. Beom-woo’s original passion lies with management and not the foods themselves. He wants profit for Motto, and he does it by leveraging his passion for managing the business and internal affairs of the restaurant.
His passion isn’t inherently bad. It’s his actions of terrorizing and exploiting small businesses that made it bad.
It’s also important that we recognize each character’s individuality, and not cage them in a box. Yeon-joo might have a pure passion for food, and doesn’t mind not getting the profit, but it doesn’t mean Beom-woo’s passion is less.
