She lived in the city with her parents, but following the fact that she’d lost her mother at the age of fifteen, her father remarried. He’d fallen ill about a year ago and was now in coma inside the hospital building on the street where she stood making a call.
She would sight a group of boys, bullying a young man on a wheelchair. It was insane and cruel and she would rush to his rescue. And thus was the first time meeting of Acher and Gigi. And because they were simply kids on the streets, they gave their names as their friends liked to address them. She would know him as Acher and he would know her as Gigi.
Gigi decided they could be friends, since she was free at the moment. She made it a duty to always go pick him up at a small house he shared with some young men. They would go to the park sometimes, played a lot and did every mischief they could in his condition. He used to be in the air force, but had gotten into an accident that blinded him.
Ever since, his father who was also a soldier, had rejected him. To the man, he was a liability and there was no place for such in his household. Turned out Acher was from a wealthy family. In fact, they owned the hospital where her father was deposited in the coma and many other thriving enterprises. Like herself, he’d also lost his mother early.
