The relationship between a slave and the master is usually one of the uttermost depravity. A situation where the slave is bound to only give and give, but never having the right to take. Part 1: The Vampire Prince’s Bride Book Story Summary
The Vampire Prince’s Bride story was set in a paranormal world. This was a world beyond the human realm, where fairy-tale creatures were very normal existence. This was the kind of world where such beings as werewolves, vampires, lycans, witches, fairies and what have you, existed side by side in the same time frame. While some of these paranormal beings abhorred humans…
Some of them had made treaties that helped both humans and their kind coexist without squabbles. In the case of this story, it was very normal for humans to run into vampires. While some lived to tell the tales, others became food. Howbeit, both species coexisted together. Now, the vampires had something called thralls. Thralls were humans who were bound to vampires.
These humans weren’t turned into vampires, they were left to live, but bound to serve the master. Being a thrall was the same as being a slave. And Miss Scarlett Russell, a homeless girl, who depended on scraps for daily survival, had come in contact with vampires. She was returning from work one evening, when the rogues attacked her. Rogues were vampires who had no loyalty to anyone.
And didn’t belong in a coven. But before they could cause her physical pains, she was miraculously rescued by yet another vampire. This one was a Lord and stronger than many. Scarlett felt very grateful and because he’d saved her life, she also felt she owed him. Which was why she didn’t hesitate when she agreed to the offer of becoming his one and only Thrall.
He’d promised heaven on earth, said how no one could hurt her so long as she was under his care. Vowed she was his and his alone. And to seal the agreement, he marked her. For a thrall, the mark was special. It made three roses on her neck, with the foundation in her blood streams. This oath was supposed to be renewed every year and before midnight on the day they first agreed.
If not renewed, the consequences spelled torture and eventual death for the thrall. And after three years, today was the renewal date. Scarlett had been happy, so happy she didn’t notice when he started cheating. He would return tonight, just an hour before midnight, with a human girl —making love to her in his car. And thus, Scarlett Russell discovered she was at the end of the road.

Scarlett Russell was happy. Today was the day she renewed the blood oath with the vampire lord she’d been bound to about 3yrs ago. She would confess, that deep down, she knew he’d been seeing someone. But the difference today was that as she stepped out of the house to welcome him, she found him busy.
He was vigorously having sex with a woman in the back seat of the brand new Rolls-Royce. And as if her heart wasn’t broken enough, the girl faked a passing out and he had to carry her out of the vehicle.. looking for immediate solution. He had only one word for the miserable thrall sitting on the basement under the torrential rain… “don’t just sit there,” he barked, “call an ambulance!”

It would seem that Sean Bathory had found his fated mate. A mate was more than a thrall, because the bond was usually ethereal. From the way he was behaving, it was obvious something else was at play. He would take this lady into the house where his private nurses attended to her… while Scarlett continued to watch in utter amazement from outside the door.
“From this day, you’re mine and only mine,” she recalled as she overheard him whisper the same words to this strange woman. It was at this time that Scarlett put fantasies aside and remembered it was almost midnight. Lord Bathory’s finding his mate or falling in love with another wasn’t a problem, the problem was that he’d forgotten they were bound by the blood.

Apparently, a lot was at play. There were chances she could survive, but never had it been heard in thousands of centuries that a thrall survived the curse.
But we could expect that the odds weren’t against her as the damage was not her fault. She’d only but wrongfully fallen in love at a place she had no claims. She would dive into battle as viewers watched her struggle against the first curse. She would survive the night, but it could only get worse… as the next was usually tougher than the last.

What Scarlett Russell desired deeply was to not only be free of Sean Bathory in the spirit, but also to secure her body under the care of a better master.
