Part 1: Love at Dangerous Speeds Summary
In the high society, love before marriage isn’t important at all. As you can imagine, Marriages usually were arranged based on the following factors: interests and family.
Violet is the only child and heir to her family’s estates. Her father died when she was young. So, her step-mother was in charge.
To avoid being disinherited, Violet tried to please her step-mother, who had high demands on her.While Violet was away at school, her step-mother fell into debt.
To save the family business, she made a pact with the city’s most powerful family, promising Violet to their notorious first son in exchange for financial rescue.
This family had gained wealth through dubious means, and the first son had been single for years due to his dark cravings. Marrying Violet would allow him to become the family chief.
Upon returning home, Violet learned of her suitor and reluctantly accepted the arrangement.
The wedding was held at a posh hotel. This was the place where Violet was to spend the night with her husband.
However, he left her bruised and trembled. Her step-mother advised her to endure it, but Violet chose to flee just before the wedding.
She ran through the hotel corridors, knocked on a random door, and was helped by a cool guy. He is Marcus, a handsome race car driver.
Marcus was moved by her bruises, so he was determined to help her escape here. They instantly connected. It seems that Marcus also fell in love with her within this period.
