It was back at Camden Prep, a student had emerged the valedictorian of the graduation year. Being the valedictorian meant you were the best graduating student and the award came with a scholarship to any of the top universities around the world. It also attracted sponsorship and monetary gifts from top companies in the country. All together with a new vehicle.
This was a school dominated by children whose parents ruled the European society. Children who were spoiled rotten and didn’t understand what it meant to struggle. But the young lady who’d won this prestigious and lucrative opportunity was none other but the society reject. The one who was only allowed to study here simply because her mother worked there as a janitor.
The other students got jealous. This was the worst thing Abbi Moore’s ever done. It was already rude that she made straight As, was always sighted as a good example to others, always chosen to answer tough questions in class and mostly assisted the teachers. Did she also have to be the valedictorian? It made the wealthy students, who felt they were her betters, look bad.
A young man named Felix Barnes was even more offended. He’d taken to bullying Abbi since fifth grade, when it became obvious that she was a prodigy. He would take things to the next level, when they started a rumor that got her mother fired and ruined her reputation. Overnight, Abbi became a teacher fucker, as the rumor claimed she’d been caught sleeping with her teacher in exchange for good grades.
He even went ahead to print a banner showing Abbi’s face which he titled ‘Slut!’ But Abbi wasn’t trying to be what she was not, neither was she in competition with the wealthy. She’d simply focused on her academics, and because she was from a poor family, had registered with a nanny providing agency for extra income. She was scheduled for an interview at the Barnes mansion.
She had no idea it was the same Barnes as Felix Barnes. His father needed a nanny because his daughter was ill, his wife had died and his son’s grades and attitude was dropping. She would refuse to be nanny to a boy of her age, but after his threatening to frustrate her, she would take the job. Imagine Felix Barnes’s demeanor when he arrived home and saw he had a new nanny.

Skye Edmond was heading to the exit with her clique, which included Felix Barnes and others, when the announcement came from the central speakers. While she’d shown nothing more than the general reactions, she’d busted into tears immediately she got into the car.
This was because she’d noticed a change in Felix’s demeanor just before he got into his car. This was a young man she’d crushed over since third grade, but no matter what she did, she’d remained in the friend’s zone. With the recent developments, he could develop some respect for Abbi and she could lose her chances. She pleaded with her father to convince the school board to fire her mother.

Like Skye feared, Felix Barnes did begin to develop some respect for Abbi and to hide it, he started to over do things. He took the bullying sessions to a new heights in the attempt to let her understand that Camden Prep belonged to him. But things speedily spiraled out of control, when he arrived home the same day to discover his father had hired a nanny to babysit him and his sister.
And this nanny was none other but Abbi Moore. Tried as he could, he couldn’t shake his father’s decision, in fact, the man threatened to cease his car. It was even worse that she was moved into the mansion and given the license to punish him should he disobey her orders. Now Felix had more skeletons in his pocket. Not only did he need to hide his feelings he also needed to hide his nanny.

And because he needed to hide his nanny, he came up with certain rules and regulations that he thought would help them coexist without exposing the other. What would other students say if they heard he was being nannied? What if they discovered the nanny was Abbi Moore? How about his clique of friends with whom he’d bullied her, raising his manly ego since third grade?
Abbi did agree to his terms, especially as this was coming up after she’d retaliated most of his treachery over the years: when she stopped him from sleeping in by emptying a bucket of water on his head while still in bed, unplugged the video game wires, denied him access to the refrigerator because he rebelled, and forced him to do his homework, which she marked immediately.
But on arriving school the following day as friends with benefits, where he drove her to school but dropped her way off so as to not be seen together, she would discover his sister had forgotten her lunch box. The original plan was to have a courier service deliver it to her, but as soon as she arrived by her locker, turned out Skye was continuing where Felix stopped to bully her.
A part of the agreement that had made them friends with benefits was that he would no longer bully her in school and in exchange she wouldn’t let anyone know she was his nanny and lived in his house. But seeing as he couldn’t rescue her from Skye that morning, Abbi would make a point to let everyone know about Felix’s skeletons. And to save some dignity he announced a rebellious party. But what happened after he rescued Abbi from the swimming pool?
