The Year in His Chains plot follows Anna Bieber, who comes home to celebrate her anniversary with her husband Mike. Tired and exhausted after a long shift, Anna wanted a peaceful night with her husband, which would be ideal with a warm, comforting bath and a glass of wine.
But in return, Anna found Mike beaten and tied up. Worse, the intruders were still around as Jeremy Allen, the mob lord, quickly had Anna pinned down. He already knew about her nursing home job as he threatened her with a gun.
Next, Anna, despite her attempts to scare the intruder, was held at gunpoint. Next, Jeremy had her husband Mike explain why Jeremy was at their home. And the reason was that Mike owed Jeremy money. But it wasn’t some $50k or $100k; it was a massive million dollars in debt that Mike had failed to pay.
Soon Jeremy Allen gave Mike twelve hours to return the money or he would take Anna instead. There were no lines Jeremy wouldn’t cross, as he wanted Anna to become his servant for a year if Mike failed to pay up.
