There’s No Home for the Broken Hearted movie opened where a young lady of about 17 appeared at the marine corps registration unit to sign up to the program. It was weird because she was so young. Because of this, the soldiers on duty had to inquire deeply to find out if she was acting on her right minds. And alas, Bella Brown was more than ready to serve her country.
But why so young? Bella Brown was unfortunate to have been pushed down to the receiving end of the kind of heartbreaking cruelty, that come from the least expected places and aim for the parts of one’s emotions that causes so much irreparable damage to the soul. There are words and manner of speaking that children are not supposed to hear from their biological parents.
This also includes biological relatives, both junior and senior ones. But for whatever bizarre reasons, we still have humans in this world who exude such unforgivable attitudes towards their immediate family members. In such cases, it is usually more excruciating if the perpetrators of narcissistic behaviors were immediate family members, and not just distant relatives or friends.
Bella was already physically wasting, viewers could tell there was something terribly wrong with her health. But before she could step out of the sign up location, her boyfriend took her immediately to the hospital where she was required to donate more blood to her sister, Pearl. It was here that we understood that Bella was born simply for the purpose of helping Pearl live.
According to what was being said, Pearl had a condition where she was constantly fainting due to lack of blood, and it was only Bella who had the RH blood type that could be transfused to her. You would think they were getting it in understandable manner, but no, they slapped and abused her right there where she was donating the blood, trying to punish her for being late to the hospital.
Nobody cared what Bella was going through, nobody saw her. They simply just glanced towards her direction, only when she was needed for blood transfusion to Pearl. She was home schooled simply so she could be constantly available for Pearl. They were using her like a Guinea pig, transferring her life force to her sister, until she decided to join the Army and sever family ties.

Bella was looking sickly as she appeared before the soldiers who were tasked with recruitment, but she seemed determined and motivated. She’d scored very high during the entrance exam and would pass the physical interview, when she reassured the soldiers that she was certain of her decision to join the marine corps. She was very happy as she started towards the exit.
On arriving at the entrance of the building, a handsome looking young man was waiting impatiently. He grabbed the young lady by the wrist and stormed off towards the direction of the city general hospital. He was rudely asking about her whereabouts and saying how a certain Pearl was sick and she was running late to donate her blood for the 3rd time in one month.

We would later discover that Pearl was Bella’s elder sister. She was older by one year before Bella was born. But Pearl was born with an evil, selfish and cruel spirit. When she was six and Bella was five, she witnessed their parents gifting Bella a nice teddy bear and showering her with love. She was so mad that she started to device ways through which she could destroy her.
Her first act of wickedness was to throw herself down the stairs and accuse Bella of intentionally pushing her. And from that day onwards, life was never the same again for Bella. Her first unsolicited punishment was to go three days without food, then it gradually developed to being home schooled for Pearl’s sake and eventually to becoming Pearl’s blood bank…

Among the cruel words Bella grew used to hearing from her own parents and older brother was how she was simply born for the purpose of keeping Pearl alive. She was told how she was nothing. Her mother verbally regretted giving birth to her in her presence. They would see she was weak from excessive donation of blood and still slap her wickedly and send her on errands.
In fact, the entire family of two parents, two older siblings and her own boyfriend consciously preferred to crowd around Pearl while being extremely cruel to Bella. She would even overhear her boyfriend hugging Pearl and explaining to her that he only pretends to still like Bella so she would be willing to continue to donate her blood to her. Bella Brown was intensively miserable.

And she was the one who had their parent’s and sibling’s attention. They were waiting on her hands and legs, and hung on every word she said. Pearl could order everyone to lock Bella up and they would obey.
To the detriment of her sister, Pearl was the Queen B of the Brown family. While no one saw or heard anything Bella said, they all listened to every sound Pearl made, including her boyfriend since childhood. Because she was bent on having both her life and her sister’s, there could be no other men in the world for her to choose to date, Pearl would also have Bella’s boyfriend.
Pearl continued to manipulate their parents against Bella until she got her driving license. She’d waited for Bella’s death since she was five and until now, girl had refused to die. She therefore, started her car up and knocked her down just few hours before she could report for training. Blood was needed at the hospital but nobody agreed to save Bella’s life. They left her for dead.
What does one do in such situation? It had been 18yrs of living in a prison that was once home. Bella never knew rest for a second of living in the home where she was unfortunate enough to have been born. She’d endured so far until they all left her for dead at the hospital after her sister intentionally knocked her down. Therefore, we can expect that she severed the family ties.

The lessons There’s No Home for the Broken Hearted movie holds cannot be overemphasized. There’s something Bella kept repeating as she plotted her escape from the Brown family. She said if nobody would love her that she would love herself. And so she did, her first tact was to join the army, go off the grid and disappear for a few years. She hoped to get a happier life, make the best of it and die at old age. This would be the best response to children who find themselves in similar situations.
