Brenton is the trueborn heir to the Dragon Throne. When his bastard brother, Devlin, crashes a dragon into the castle, killing the King, Brenton takes the fall to protect Devlin, but Devlin arranges for a harsher sentence for Brenton, killing him with dragonfire.
