The Final Check-in
The argument started like any other, late night frustration, a dropped call, and a simple denial from Liam. But for Sophie, the quiet sound of a laugh right before the line went dead was the undeniable crack in his carefully constructed lie. Now, every subsequent text exchange, every denial, every placating word, only escalates her suspicion that Liam isn't just cheating, he's concealing a truth far more dangerous. Trapped in a digital echo chamber of their history, Sophie desperately pushes for proof, unaware that her ultimatum, If you're alone, prove it, will unleash a torrent of evidence and chilling confessions that reveal Liam is not just with another person, but that the stakes of his secrecy extend far beyond a shattered relationship. The conversation that follows will turn an argument about trust into a frantic race for survival, all unfolding in the unforgiving, public glare of their private chat history.*This entry is participating in the ReelShort Reel Vertical Impact contest
