Part 1: What Is The Storyline of the Spring of Youth Movie?

Spring of Youth series opens with a two-episode premiere at SBS network. The series has a total of ten episodes, debuting with 1.4% viewer rating in Korea. Despite having a relatively low reception in their country, the drama series found a foothold in several countries in North America and Southeast Asia.
The story follows Sa Gye (played by Ha Yoo-joon), an ex-idol who was kicked out of his Kpop group, The Crown, for no apparent reason after an accident. With his position and fame stripped away from him, he enrolled at Hanju University.
At school, he met Kim Bom (Park Ji-hu), a talented keyboardist and vocalist still grieving from her mother’s death, losing the opportunity for an Ivy League School in the process.
Meanwhile, Seo Tae-yang (played by Lee Seung-hyub), a gifted guitarist and med student, becomes both musical rival and emotional companion.
Together with Kong Jin-gu (the drummer) and Bae Gyu-ri (Bom’s cousin and Sa Gye’s fan), they formed a campus band TWO SAGYE. As they share moments with music, it becomes their pathway for healing past wounds, and forging new friendships, all while discovering their purpose.
But the Spring of Youth plot took an unexpected twist when Sa Gye discovered that the death of Bom’s mother might be connected to him. A supernatural twist was added by having Sa Gye inherit his mother’s ability to see the dreams of the deceased.
He found out that Tae-yang’s father and his former agent were involved in the death of Bom’s mother. This secret might threaten the very foundation of their friendship when revealed.
In an act to save everyone from hurting, Sa Gye took matters into his own hands, but failed because of the lack of evidence.
As the Spring of Youth plot thickens, the harder for Sa Gye to risk their friendship and the higher the stakes had become.
Part 2: Spring of Youth Ending Preview
Spring of Youth Ending

Spring of Youth ends with their victory over corruption, Bom’s personal journey to healing, and the reunification of TWO SAGYE. The picture of their reunion creates a conclusion that’s both touching and deeply satisfying after all the emotional rollercoaster that these kids went through.
After finding out the involvement of his father in the death of Bom’s mother, Tae-yang hesitates to confront his father. However, he finds out that Sa Gye is in danger. With guilt gnawing at him and his concern for Sa Gye, he takes his place on a potentially sabotaged stage.
Tae-yang also plans to commit suicide as his way to show his guilt and repentance toward his father’s crimes. After learning about this and unable to bear losing his son, Seo Min-chul finally confesses, He also exposes his accomplices, and they are all arrested.
Sa Gye and the other members of The Crown ended their contract with the company and parted ways amicably. Bom is devastated that Sa Gye withheld the truth. Hurt and in need of healing, she leaves for the U.S. for two years—gaining independence and clarity while quietly composing new music.
Two years later, as the Spring of Youth finale approaches, Bom returns and reunites with Sa Gye with a warm embrace and kiss. Tae-yang, having reconciled with his father and survived his guilt, rekindles his musical path and rejoins TWO SAGYE. Jin Gu and Gyu Ri officially begin a romantic relationship.
How Does Healing Work for the Member of TWO SAGYE?

The Spring of Youth finale shows us that the five members of TWO SAGYE have finally found healing on their own.
Sa Gye’s wounds from the past came from his abrupt expulsion from the band and music he cherishes. He just needed a push to get back to his knees, and the formation of TWO SAGYE is the catalyst.
With the other members being away from him, he rekindles his love for music to express his longing for the band, and his bandmates.
Bom’s wound was from her mother’s death. The formation of TWO SAGYE becomes her release, the lullaby to her sleepless nights. However, she hadn’t truly accepted her death, so when Sa Gye hid this truth from her, she was deeply hurt. Distancing herself from the group as she focuses with herself is her way of healing.
Tae-yang’s journey has always involved him trying to live for his father. The act of his father confessing to his sins for his sake gave Tae-yang the hope that their relationship could still be mended.
