Marcel Wallace was a true legend, called a sniper. But he wanted more than a glorious career; he wanted his happily ever after with his wife, Regina. After years of prioritizing basketball over his family, Marcel wanted to retire and settle down with his wife, Regina, and son, Mars.

However, everything changed when Marcel lost Regina. He ended up abandoning his son and ruining his career as a washed-up alcoholic the world failed to recognize.

Twenty years after his retirement, Marcel, who was determined to never play basketball again, is forced to return for the sake of his son. This time around he’s doubted and mocked by everybody until he proves he was the lost legend, the God of Ball.

Actor and writer Evan Brown plays Mars Davis in Once the God of Ball, Always the God of Ball Movie. Mars Davis was the incredible son of Marcel Wallace. Raised by his aunt after Marcel’s abandonment, Mars grew up hating his father.

Yet he fell in love with the lost legend, the sniper, and ended up becoming a champion BA player. Only when his deadbeat father returns to the basketball court two decades later to save his team does Mars Davis finally realize his father was the lost legend.

Behind his glamorous NBA career, UBA player Marcel Wallace was a loving husband and a doting father to Regina and Mars. After years of dedicating his life to basketball, Marcel Wallace was ready to retire and live a simple life, finally prioritizing his family.

At the 2006 UBA Finals, Marcel Wallace sealed the victory and was named the God of Ball. With his legendary title and win, Marcel, dedicating his win to his wife, was ready to make the big announcement until a tragedy happened.

Marcel’s wife, Regina, was killed in a robbery gone wrong. Poor Marcel, who wanted to give everything away for a peaceful life with his wife, ended up heartbroken. Losing Regina didn’t just break his heart but also his spirit. Taking the blame for Regina’s death, Marcel Wallace became an alcoholic. Afraid he would risk his son’s life, he refused to raise him, as he left him in the care of his sister-in-law, Grace.

Heartbroken, Marcel Wallace also decided to burn every last bridge that connected him to basketball. Because he blamed basketball for taking everything away from him, he vowed to never play.

Twenty years later, Marcel Wallace, the lost legend, was working at a burger joint. Once a celebrated legend was now a washed-up alcoholic who had a hard time staying sober at work in the movie Once the God of Ball, Always the God of Ball.

Marcel never wanted to return to basketball, but fate had other plans. Marcel’s former team, the Lightning, was dying. With losing streaks, the owners wanted to kill the team if they failed their next match, the playoffs with season favorite 99ERS.

Omari Gibbs, the general manager of the Lightning team, needed a miracle as he ended up at a food drive-through, with fate leading him to Marcel Wallace. Omari wanted Marcel to return to basketball for the sake of his son, Mars Davis.

Marcel’s estranged son, Mars Davis, the boy he abandoned twenty years ago, had grown into a fine young man. He was the Lightning team’s star player, a rookie of the year who had taken his team to the playoffs. However, with his underdog team’s future at stake, Mars’s career was almost over.

Though Marcel never wanted to return to basketball, for the sake of his son, he agreed. After all, he had ruined his life, so he refused to ruin his son’s life. However, in a plot twist, Marcel Wallace doesn’t return as a player but as an assistant coach.

Upon his return, everybody mocked and doubted Marcel, including his estranged son Mars, who wanted to cut all ties. But when an injury at the playoffs puts Mars out of the game, his team needs a miracle to survive; hence, Marcel finally returns to play, starting right off where he left twenty years ago.

Holding the league finals cup, Marcel Wallace couldn’t have been happier as he was ready to retire, wishing for happily ever after with his wife away from the spotlight. However, Marcel’s memorable victory night took a dark turn when Regina was attacked, and she soon died on the spot.

With his wife’s tragic death, Marcel’s life turned upside down as he retired and disappeared from basketball without any trace and ended up becoming a lost legend the world could never forget.

After the tragedy, Marcel Wallace never wanted to play basketball again. But twenty years later, Marcel was challenged in a shooting contest by his estranged son, Mars Davis. As Marcel Wallace had taken up the assistant coach position at the Lightning team, his number one hater was his son. So to stay and seal his job, Marcel had to beat his son in a thrilling contest.

Refusing to lose his son, Marcel Wallace took up the challenge and beat his son in the game, with his identity hidden as he sealed his position as the assistant coach in the Once the God of Ball, Always the God of Ball episode.

Mars Davis was injured and out of the playoffs. This put his team, Lightning, in a tough spot, the crowd demanding they forfeit the match against 99ERS. Their last hope was Marcel Wallace.

Afraid he would put his son’s life at risk, Marcel refused to play, but as he realized his son’s career was at stake, he refused to back away. Finally, twenty years after his sudden retirement, Marcel was back in an NBA jersey as he announced his return with a full-court shot, reminding the crowd why he was the God of Ball.
