Drusilla Blackclaw, the second female lead of sold to the warlord born for the sky animation, was an indigene of Blackclaw, the daughter of the captain of the Blackclaw outstanding army, which happened to be the most powerful armed forces in the Sky kingdoms where the movie was set. While other provinces, like Skybound of the North had degraded in strength, Blackclaw boasted of many arsenals.
Which was why it wasn’t surprising that a letter arrived with a mouthwatering offer from King Helgar, the king of Skybound and of the North, pleading for help as the Frostskin that terrorized the Sky kingdoms about a century ago, had returned. Truth was that even if he hadn’t offered the dragon caller in exchange for her lord’s protection, the Blackclaw would have still gone to war.
As the breaching of the Northern province could open the way into other regions of the Sky kingdom. Drusilla’s relationship with Ravek had been that of passion and gain. Being his woman elevated her status among Blackclaw women and even though it wasn’t love at first sight, she’d started to fall in love when a beautiful morning was ruined by King Helgar’s most disconcerting plea.
She’d ridden with the legion that accompanied Ravek to Skybound and together with her kin, observed his transformation. And jealousy, a feeling Drusilla was not familiar with, washed over her. He was here to marry a princess, a petite looking frame, a much younger woman without some sense and even though she was a dragon caller, she had no gift in her blood! Drusilla was mad.
But all hopes were not yet lost as the marriage process of the Sky kingdoms and the tradition of Blackclaw could still be trusted to stop the madness. First, there was going to be a binding ceremony. Where the little girl goes in a cage and returned engaged to Ravek. Then came the proving, where the dragon was required to submit to her if she had the gift or burn her alive. And if she succeeded…
It would be Ravek who walked the dragon flame to prove his affection and intentions were genuine. Either ways, Drusilla held on to the hopes that before the weekend ended one thing would be certain —she was returning to Blackclaw with Ravek still belonging to her! Princess Cassia decided her parents had done enough and refused to listen to her father’s wishes. In her rebellion, she ran into the corridor and there, was confronted by a very intimidating appearance. He was huge, with the bluest eyes she ever saw, had such powerful arms, heavy locks that tumbled down his massive shoulders, a battle scar that marked his appearance and a baritone that rumbled.

But she pushed the door open only to find the remnants of her kingdom hiding there. The city had been under siege for months. The commoners had chosen to go hungry so she could feed. Their weakness showed in their appearances and many spotted injuries of war. It was a sight to behold but nothing broke her like the frail little girl that ran up the stairs to her.
For their sake she agreed to marry Ravek, but it wasn’t going to be easy. While Drusilla watched from the front rows, the little princess walked the aisle to the iron cage where the binding ceremony was performed. It broke her heart to watch Ravek kissing another woman in public while he’d kissed her only in private. The engagement was completed, but what happened at the proving?
