Ivy and Daisy were both orphans and best friends. When they turned eight, two families adopted them. Daisy went with the wealthy Vance Family, while Ivy joined the poor Lowe Family.
Although rich, Daisy’s life in the Vance Family was actually like a living hell. Vance’s only son, Patrick Vance, was a bully. He always targeted Daisy, even until when they went to high school.
Daisy’s life with the Vance Family was full of hatred and suffering. Daisy, unaware of Ivy’s life with the Lowe Family, was jealous of her. She thought she was living happily despite being poor.
However, Ivy’s situation with the Lowe Family wasn’t ideal either. The family was poor, with a gambling addict father and a greedy mother. They were even abusive.
Her hatred for Ivy fueled even more when Patrick started pursuing Ivy. Jealousy had clouded Daisy’s reasons, she killed Ivy. The next thing they knew, they were back on the day where it truly started.

With the knowledge from their past life, Ivy and Daisy were determined to make a change. This time, Daisy chose the Lowe Family, thinking that she would live a good life with them. She also believed that Patrick’s attraction would also be hers soon.
True to her expectations, she indeed caught the attention of Patrick. That was also when she knew the true faces of the Lowe Family.
Ivy, on the other hand, found both families detestable. She knew the Vance Family was cruel and so was the Lowe Family. At least with the Vance Family, she’d be able to study without distraction.
For her second life, Ivy wouldn’t rely on her family or anyone. She would pave the way for herself and break the relationship with the Vance Family. This goal was proven difficult as the day passed and Patrick’s pranks and bullying became more intolerable.

Ivy & Thorn: Ivy Never Fades ending is one of the most satisfying conclusions I’ve ever seen in a Chinese drama.
The Lowe and Vance Family got what they deserved. Ivy became a successful figure in the business and technology industry together with the classmate she saved after being reborn.
In the last few episodes, we can see Patrick trying to atone for his sins. But a scene in Episode 28 hinted at his fake mask. Though you don’t have to worry about him for too long. He got his karma in the hands of Daisy.
It was also a good thing that this Dailymotion drama didn’t push Patrick and Ivy together. It would leave a bad taste with the viewers to see the strong and independent woman they supported end up with her bully.
Just like what she said in the ending, she doesn’t need a prince charming to save her. She’ll carve her own path with the people she’ll meet along the way.
What I like the most in the conclusion arc of this short drama is the chance they gave for Daisy. I was able to watch Daisy become vulnerable and human in the embrace of the orphanage director Miss Kelly.
She wasn’t just a villain for the sake of having an antagonist. Her hatred and desire was deeply rooted to her childhood and instinct for survival.
She was given a chance to renew her life, but she ultimately chose to destroy her life with a smile by bringing Patrick’s downfall. I think this is the best ending for her whose both lives were lived in misery due to Patrick.
