Part 2: All About Pride & Prejudice Movie plot
Pride & Prejudice plot talks about the Bennett family. Mrs. Bennett, who married Mr. Bennett for his wealth, was furious to know the inheritance would only be passed to a male heir. To save her daughters from destitution, she planned to have them married to wealthy suitors. Everyone except for Lizzie Bennet, the stepdaughter.
Hence, Mrs. Bennett forbade Lizzie to attend the ball despite her daughter Jane’s request. But Lizzie went against her stepmother’s wishes as she went to the ball to help Jane with her medicine. Jane was ill, but the family had kept it a secret to have her married off.
At the high society ball, Lizzie embarrassed herself with her poor outfit and messed look as she ran into Mr. Darcy’s arms. He was the millionaire of Hertfordshire, the most sought bachelor. But he was brooding, mysterious, unlike his peers.
Despite being called a pig in a tailored suit by Lizzie, he stepped forward to save her when she was humiliated by his cousin Anne. However, Anne didn’t stop there, she went on to humiliate Lizzie’s family for their poor status.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bennett was furious with Lizzie for breaking her orders. Before she could assault Lizzie, Mr. Darcy comes to her rescue yet again. He introduced Mr. Bingley to Lizzie’s sister Jane and also brought his family owned french royalty dress for Lizzie to wear to fit the standards of the ball.
However Lizzie overhead Darcy’s conversation with his friend Mr. Bingley leading to yet another disagreement between the two.
At the end of the ball, Darcy sought Lizzie’s forgiveness for not being a gentleman towards her. It was evident the two were attracted to each other.
Back home, her stepmother vowed to banish Lizzie from the family if Mr. Bingley refused to propose to Jane. Desperate to help her sister Jane marry the man of her dreams, Lizzie set out on a long journey to meet with Mr. Bingley.
