Mars Davis, the main character of Once the god of ball always the god of Ball book, was born to a man named Marcel Wallace and his very beloved wife. They’d met in high school, grown up in the same neighborhood and while he’d followed his dreams of becoming a basketballer, Regina had continued on to study History in college.
Marcel had been sighed by the Lightening basketball club just a week after he left high school and before long he became famous. He was so good that he was christened the sniper. He was also the captain of the club… the crowd chanted his name during every match he played in. And not long after getting married to Regina, they gave birth to Mars Davis.
The young man had grown up as an adopted child, under the tutelage of his aunt. He’d grown up hearing the story about how he’d been given away at three months old by his father. They’d also made sure he knew exactly who the irresponsible men was: he was constantly drunk, roamed the streets and worked as a cook at a drive in. The old man was a description of a perfect loser.
He’d therefore, grown up resenting him, very angry at haven been neglected and abandoned as a child. And because he knew that such a loser was his father, he made sure to never have a reason to cross paths. But this was until the problem that was threatening to end his young career. This was 20yrs later and he was playing for the Lightening club or what was left of it.
