Movies with Underdog Mood

In the noble matriarchal magic family of Valerius, baby Ella is born with the supreme Pure Gold Bloodline, destined to be queen. But her jealous aunt Morgan bribes a priest to brand her a clan-destroying curse. The cold grandmother orders a fire execution. As her parents, Duchess Octavia and Edmund, watch in despair, Bram—a “foolish” janitor despised by all—rushes into the flames and saves her with scorched hands. Ella’s supreme magic is sealed by a dark curse; her identity pendant becomes a charred lump. Six years later, powerless Ella is the lowest “magic-less trash” at the Magic Academy, surviving with her foolish adoptive father. Fate is cruel: her biological brother Julian brutally beats her; Duchess Octavia, longing for her dead daughter, smashes the dirty child against the sacred blood-testing stone. The stone flashes gold but is extinguished by the seal. Enraged, Octavia silently allows Julian to kill; Bram is severed in the spine protecting Ella. To earn one gold coin for medicine, 8-year-old Ella endures humiliation and jumps into a freezing ice lake. The icy water cleans the Star Pendant, revealing its faint blue glow. Climbing ashore, she runs into the Duchess—who stares at the pendant, stunned. When the supreme Pure Gold magic finally breaks the seal and shakes the empire, the truth will tear open the ducal family’s bloody lies. They will fall into eternal regret. And Ella, holding her foolish father’s hand, has only coldness and unforgiveness for those “blood relatives” who kneel and weep.

Leo carries the pure bloodline of an ancient Sea God, but crippled his own legs to save his fiancée's father. On the eve of their wedding, Sophia and Arthur, the Papacy's Saint, drag him to a cliffside altar and drain his divine blood so Arthur can be baptized a Saint. Left for dead, Leo instead awakens a sleeping god-relic beneath the sea, reclaiming the Golden Trident and a body reforged in scaled armor. He returns in disguise, crushes Arthur's forged relic in the arena, and reveals his true god-form, forcing the Church to its knees. Allied with Elena, Grand Duchess of Winter, he hunts down three Sea God Hearts, exposes the Church's dark sacrifices to the Lord of the Abyss, and ultimately unleashes the wrath of the ocean to seal the rift and save the continent.

Loyal and quick-witted, he protects his loved ones and untangles one conspiracy after another. In the end, he becomes a new-generation powerhouse who commands his own destiny—and shields the ones he loves—stepping into an even grander world.

In Dragonveil Valley, Kael meets Dramor—a dusty silver hatchling also deemed worthless. When dragon hunters ambush them, boy and dragon forge a flawless bond amid certain death. Dramor awakens molten crimson-gold fire; seven elemental runes bloom on Kael’s wrist. They vow to hide their power and reclaim everything at the Valen Grand Tournament in seven days. They train in an abandoned quarry, slaying a full-grown rock-armor grizzly. Whispers of a mysterious fire dragon knight spread. Dramor devours a monster core and matures rapidly, but exposes their trail. Pursued, they plunge into Twin Peaks Gorge—and their pact’s sacred fire becomes enormous wings, carrying them to the open sea. Disguised as a weak, non-aligned pair, they enter the clan tournament. Kael overpowers a wind dragon wielder, then defeats a lightning dragon pair with Dramor. In the final match, Dramor’s fire is drained; wounded, he shields Kael. Kael realizes he fights not just for birthright—but for his dearest companion. The second pact rune awakens, unleashing lightning and flame. Boy and dragon fuse into a new Thunderfire form.
